This service provides instructional coaching and academic consultation across multiple phases of the dissertation process and may be appropriate for students working on a concept paper, prospectus, or proposal.

Your assigned dissertation coach reviews materials you have authored and provides structured feedback and advisory guidance related to areas such as literature review organization, research question development, hypotheses formulation (when applicable), methodological framing, data analysis planning, and the written presentation of results and discussion sections. All feedback is instructional and intended to support your own revision and decision-making.

Coaching may also include guidance on locating and evaluating scholarly sources and discussing strategies for responding to comments or feedback provided by your dissertation chair or committee. We do not communicate with faculty or committees on a student’s behalf.

Dissertation defense preparation is also available and may include mock defense practice sessions focused on presentation skills, question anticipation, and academic communication.

Coaching sessions may be conducted via email, telephone, video conferencing, or in person, depending on availability and preference.
